Athena is a 4-year-old Pix Mix in Ocala, FL, who needs $2,000 for orthopedic surgery.

Athena was hit by a car and found by my son on the side of the road. Her owners then wanted to euthanize her. I was transferred ownership of Athena and am raising the funds to take care of the surgery she needs and all her aftercare. She requires two major surgeries to repair two broken legs and was heart worm positive.

She will be a new pet to our home. We have had Athena since 1/29/21. She is a very happy and sweet dog and is not bothered by other animals. My son immediately fallen in love with her as have the rest of us and plan on making her a permanent resident to our home. We are 100% committed and invested in her well being and care.

She was a life we decided to save and a cost we did not at all see coming. We have 4 children, 4 dogs and 2 cats at home. In addition my salary was cut and then I was let go due to covid. My husband is working.

Athena has extensive wounds and breaks. She is currently under the care of Blue Pearl in Clearwater. She is requiring two external fixators, weekly bandage changes, medication etc. without donations we will not be able to properly take care of her and give her 100% of what she needs in order to heal and thrive.

Athena is special because had I not have taken her myself her life would have been cut short. So many people have already come together to help raise money for her surgeries, aftercare and preventative care. Her story has touched so many and bearing witness to her situation personally, come hell or high water she is going to get the care she needs.
