Athena is a 3-year-old Pit Bull in Victoria , TX, who needs $1,500 for TPLO.

I got Athena through a Facebook post in a surrounding town when she was 5 weeks old(she is currently 3yrs old). I had just started work at a veterinary clinic and got her the proper care she needed immediately to be happy and healthy. She grew up with my rescue pit bull (who is 9 now), my husband, mother, and my 2 kids (4yrs & 2yrs old.) We live in the country with property which she LOVES.

Athena gets along so good with kids, other dogs, cats, you name it! She goes from running and play outside on our property to coming inside and cuddle up on the couch. She is a great companion for my older rescue pit who is 9 now and for the family. She can go from rough housing with my husband to licking my kids in the face all in seconds, she is very gentle and loving.

My mom was having a hard time getting out of a bad relationship and has been unable to support herself, I took her into my home to help her. My 3bed mobile home is’nt large enough to support us all and we’re in the process of getting a larger one with limited credit/income.

My veterinarian and boss at the time was able to diagnose with Bi lateral cruciate tears. We sent rads to a specialty hospital to confirm., I did have him do a suture line cruciate repair that unfortunately was not the best rout due to her size (62lbs) and it ended up not holding up. Got a 2nd opinion @ Dr.Mark at crossroads veterinary clinic (specialist) and surgery is the only option.

Athena was found by my husband when our previous dog passed away due to a horrific veterinary spay mistake... She has been the rock for my husband whenever he needs someone to love on. She is well behaved and gentle when needed and can be playful and crazy when we get her going. She will never bark unless there is a need to alert and if that arises, she is there to protect.
