Athenia is a 1-year-old Labrador Retriever in Demopolis, AL, who needs $200 for X-rays, treatment, and possible amputation.

We got Athenia as a puppy as a rescue. Someone had dropped her off at this man's house at the church and they didnt have the room for her. We were looking for labs and she was the perfect fit. We brought her home and she immediately knew she was home. She knew to use the bathroom outside and she loved our 3 boys. Always trying to play and keep up with them even though half the time she was running she would topple over because she was so fat. We took her to the vet the following weekend for her shots to find out we lucked up and she was all lab. We were just happy we saved one more dog. As the boys grew, so did she. She learned sit, lay and shake very quickly and to walk on a leash no problem. Shes more excited when you come home from work then you are getting off from work. She definitely knows shes part of the family as she takes turns each night sleeping in each room.
