About this campaign

On January 1st, 2020 I went to one of our local shelters to adopt a kitten. I ended up falling in love with a striped tabby kitten (Atlas) and his black-fur brother (Tadashi). I went home with both of them that day. Atlas's name at the shelter was actually Hiro, from Big Hero 6. But as I watched him, I realized how smart and adventurous he was. He loved exploring so I changed his name to Atlas.

Atlas loves to cuddle with his brother. They enjoy taking naps and cleaning each others ears. We have a sunroom and he spends most of his time in there lounging in the sun. He also enjoys wrestling with his brother. They will be relaxing one second, then the next one of them is trampling the other one to the ground.

I recently lost my calico cat, Sydney to Lymphoma back on September 24th. I just got done paying for her vet bills and now Atlas is sick and the bills keep piling up. I do not have the funds to pay for all of his medical expenses too.

Atlas goes to Bradford Park Veterinary Clinic in Springfield MO. We have done blood tests, x-rays, a lymph node biopsy and there are more tests to come. From everything done so far. It is looking like he has Feline infectious peritonitis (FIP), which is very fatal. We have not only lots of testing, but if he does have it, we also have the cost of the clinical trial drugs.

I wake up most mornings with Atlas laying on my stomach or chest. Sometimes he wakes me up by nibbling on my arm. He loves to talk. He will meow if you are in the kitchen, or if you look at him and talk to him. He is very smart. He will come everything I call him, just like a dog. And he makes the cutest little sounds when he comes running to you. And he loves to chatter at the birds outside.
