About this campaign

Atticus was adopted at 10 years old from a local animal shelter in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic. I knew which cat I wanted to adopt that day- the loud one! The worker at the shelter told me, “I was wondering when someone would take him home!”
I’m very glad I did. Since then, he has lived alongside me as my only roommate. We survived 2020, and all of the craziness that followed, together.

Atticus is my only roommate- because I work remotely and attend my online college courses from home, we spend a lot of time together. Atticus and I have an established routine at home and he follows me almost everywhere that I go. Atticus is friendly towards everyone who visits our space and never fails to make sure that they know who runs the household! (Spoiler: it’s him!)

Atticus is a charmer. He is so loving to everyone and greets anyone who enters our apartment. You’d think he paid rent by the way he commands attention. Even though he is a senior kitty, he loves to have fun and play with his many toys. He loves to purr, sit on my keyboard while I’m working, and pose for photographs.

Atticus was recently seen by Dr. Rieck. Atticus has suffered from an ongoing canine tooth injury. He is in need of dental care to treat this condition and extract the tooth. He is having trouble eating his food. Because is his pain, his demeanor has changed and has become more withdrawn.

I am a full time college student living alone and working two jobs. I am usually able to support myself and my pet independently, but the $815- $1,300 quote for treatment of his illness is an unexpected expense that is almost impossible for me to come up with.
