About this campaign
Auggie was in our lives before he was even born; we fostered his mother without knowing she was pregnant. Right after she was adopted, she had her litter of three pups -- we adopted Auggie and he still sees his canine mother and brothers on a regular basis!
The Friday morning before Christmas, we woke to Auggie struggling to move. In fact, he couldn't stand, walk, or use his hind legs at all. We rushed him to Manchester Veterinary Services in Manchester, MD, where they confirmed the worst: Auggie was paralyzed from the waist down, and required immediate -- and expensive -- spinal surgery that day if he were to have even a chance of walking again.
Auggie endears himself to everyone he meets, even those who say they don't like little dogs, "crusty" white dogs, ankle biters, or "yappy" pups. He loves meeting new people and pets wherever he goes, and he's the best snuggler anyone could ask for. And who couldn't love that adorable underbite!
Spinal surgery is expensive. The neurosurgeon doesn't offer any options for paying in installments and requires full payment upfront. Being able to offset this cost and get Auggie healthy again would mean to the world to our family; things just aren't the same without him.
