Augie is part of a litter of 8 Shih Tzu puppies, born to Ducky and Lucy.. Lucy is a rescue and Ducky was a gift. Ducky was the runt of the litter and born with an undescended testicle which, we were told, would cause him to be sterile. Turns out this was far from true, as Lucy wound up getting pregnant while my brother (human) was babysitting, and with an unusually large litter to boot.

Augie is our most friendly and intelligent puppy. She loved to give kisses and playing with her sister and her parents. She learns commands really quickly. She is a big personality and has an unwavering spirit. Seeing her in this kind of pain and not being able to help is heartbreaking.

Augie was frequently ill as a puppy and required a lot of attention. Ariel and I had many sleepless nights with a respirator trying to get fluid out of Augie's lungs while she struggled to breathe... But that never stopped Augie from having such a joy for life and energetic personality. She played harder than any of the other puppies, gave the most kisses, and she is the fastest to learn tricks.

This is an emergency. Augie has a UTI/blockage in her colon. She is constipated and there is blood in her urine. She gives me this worried look of discomfort as she's attempting to have a BM that breaks my heart into pieces. We have tried fibrous foods, doggy laxatives, and enemas. We have tried massaging her belly and heating her belly and nothing has worked.

Ariel's boss fired her after he proposed to her and she refused. She is currently suing him. 4 dogs while she had that income was doable but now we are struggling. We just got our dogs fixed, vaccinated, and one of our dogs needed surgery, which was way more than expected
