Ava is a four-year-old Chihuahua in Litchfield Park, AZ, who needs $1,000 for urgent surgery.

After a terrible accident Meghan C. ended up with a holiday disaster: Her adorable, adopted dog, Ava, has a broken jaw and shoulder. She needs surgery immediately to fix her injuries at AZ Pet Vet Arrow Animal Hospital.

"Ava had an unfortunate fight with another one of our dogs over a dog bone," Meghan tells Waggle. "The other dog, being larger than Ava, just happened to bite her in the wrong place and just a little too hard. We still have the other dog as this was just an accident."

Meghan is struggling to pay for the operation Ava needs. She launched this Waggle campaign hoping generous pet lovers might understand her situation and help. "This was an unexpected tragedy, and I am doing my best with the costs. I hate to ever to ask anyone for help. I truly understand if I can't get the help at this time, but I do want to thank you all for taking the time to read about Ava," Meghan says.

Ava means so much to Meghan and her family. "Ava came into our life in 2018. I was looking online and saw a post to adopt this cute little Teacup Chihuahua. She jumps so high and is our little guard dog. Ava's favorite toy is socks. That's right, no matter how hard you try to keep them away, she will find them. In the morning, when you sit down to put your socks on, and one is missing, you'll find that Ava is ready to play. Ava also loves car rides. She will leave the house and excitedly run right up the car to go for a fun ride."
