Avika is a street dog in Hyderabad, India found with a hanging paw. It is impossible to determine how long she lived in this horrible condition - with her bones and ligaments showing.

The most likely scenario was Avika was run over by a vehicle. The Stray Animal Foundation of India's heart broke upon finding this sweet soul. They knew she needed immediate medical help.

Upon examination and diagnostics, it was determined that Avika had low hemoglobin levels and did in fact need amputation. She was given medications and good food to make her as comfortable as possible while waiting for surgery.

Avika is now healing from the amputation and adjusting to her new life with three legs. She has a long journey of healing ahead but with the help of those at the Stray Animal Foundation of India, Avika is getting her second chance at life.
