My best friend's name is B.A. He's been my only real friend for almost 20 years. He came to me when I was a kid, as a rescue from an abusive household. He's ridden on my bike handles, shoulders, arms, head, and steering wheel for so long. He has always been a cranky boy but he's always loved me so much and I loved him the minute I saw him.

My poor little friend fell from his perch and broke his poor leg. We went to the nearest avian vet and spent my last penny for pain medicine and an X-ray. Unfortunately the vet on duty was unable to read the X-ray confidently and referred me to a different vet. They said the break may be too high up to splint and he may need surgical intervention

He's been my best friend forever. He started out mistrusting me but warmed up to me eventually. He sings when we play music and laughs at the tv. He's such a character. It's like sharing your home with a maniacal 6 year old. And he's my baby. I've held him every day for so long.

I've just come off time off for a broken wrist. About 8 weeks ago I was hospitalized for a while and the resulting bills wiped out my savings. I'd have gone without if I knew my friend would need it.
