About this campaign

Baby and her brother Sammy shouldn’t have been born into pain. Victims of irresponsible breeding, these puppies have faced devastating medical conditions, and we need your help to continue to support their medical care.

Sammy was born with a life-threatening deformity that left him unable to defecate, requiring urgent intervention to save his life. Now, his sister Baby is fighting her own battle.

At only 9 months old and weighing just 5 pounds, Baby began to limp. The diagnosis was Legg-Calvé-Perthes disease, a painful condition caused by genetics, trauma, or malnutrition-all risks tied to irresponsible breeding practices. The only way to give Baby a pain-free future is with FHO (Femoral Head Ostectomy) surgery on her right hip.

This sweet little Yorkie-poo girl deserves the chance to run, play, and live like all puppies should. With surgery and recovery, Baby will finally have that chance. After two weeks of crate rest, she can begin gentle leash walks and, with time, will be on the path to a normal, happy life. But this surgery will not come at a low cost, especially as this rescue has so many other animals to care for.

💙 Please give today to help Baby to honor every animal hurt by careless breeding but saved by compassion. No amount is too small and every donation is appreciated more than you know. Thank you!

Update 10/22/25
Baby's surgery was a success, and she has also been spayed! She is now on a two-week crate rest, and with each day she's one step closer to a brighter, pain-free future. Please continue to support RBARI and Baby's recovery journey. They cannot do it without you!

Update 11/24/25
Baby did so well on crate rest that she is now walking again and walking well!
