Bailey is a 10-year-old Golden Retriever in West Babylon, NY, who needs $2,000 for MRI/SPF Tap/ICU care.

My fiancée and I went to a husky breeder and were looking at all her beautiful huskies that she had. Next thing we know she also bring out golden retrievers, she puts them down. And Bailey came running into our arms. We knew we had to have her. That day we went home with two 10-week old puppies, a golden and husky. They are now 13 months old. They are the bestest of friends. And out baby girls.

Bailey is the sweetest kindest soul you will ever meet. She’s spreads love and happiness everywhere she goes. She loves all people and dogs. Bailey enjoys occasional walks, chewing on sticks, wrestling with her sister Nala, and stealing (retrieving) daddy’s clothes (especially socks). Her and her sister both sleep mommy and daddy everyday. And never leaves our side.

As a golden retriever, Bailey is an exceptionally smart dog, but also very goofy at the same time. We trained her to ring a bell on the door when she wants to go outside. So all we hear all day is that bell ringing, as she loves to go outside and look for sticks. She is the goofiest of girls. Always stealing our clothes. Hiding our shoes. And spinning in circles on the floor.

A few days ago Bailey started having muscle tremors, foaming at the mouth, whimpering in pain, anxiety, and a severely high fever. We brought her to several vets and hospitals. All which though she had been exposed to a toxin. She is now under the care of the Neuro team at VMC in West Islip. In critical care. Heavily medicated, running tests and looking for a cure. They are suspecting Meningitis

I am a full time nurse, struggling to afford the house we currently live in as it is. My fiancée is a radiologist technician, which also going back to school to become a PA. Bills are piling up that we cannot pay. But losing my Bailey is not an option. She is our baby girl.
