Baloo is a 2-year-old Russian Blue Cat in Buchanan, MI, who needs $1,800 for Perineal Urethrostomy.

Baloo first came into our lives in September 2022. We were at a job site, an apartment complex, when we noticed a few kittens under one of the cars, after an hour or two the owner came and talked to us and we asked about the kittens. One of the people living there had a cat that had kittens and he dumped the mom and kittens outside. when one of the kittens got hit by a car we decided to take them.

We ended up taking all 5 of the cats and rehomed 2 of them, our kids kept 2 and the mom stayed with us. Baloo is a very loving cat, always around the family and cuddles with everyone, including the dogs. His sister is also a very loving kitten. He usually sleeps with us in the living room or goes and lays in the sun

Baloo is special to us because he was always the one wanting held as a baby and our son bonded with him and baloo would curl up on his lap while he did school work. He has always been cuddly toward everyone, he enjoys being upside down and he stretches out across everyone, if someone walks by while he's being held, he always reaches out and puts his paw on them. Hes more like a dog than a cat.

When they were all tiny kittens, baloo was sick and was always slow and never ate well, he then started having problems with going to the bathroom and would attack himself because he couldn't pee. We ended up taking him to the emergency vet and they told us it was because he wasn't neutered. Everything was fine but hes having that problem again. (Berrien Vet is treating him at this time)

We own our own business of property maintenance, and rely on plowing snow in the colder months, this winter we had almost no snow so we dont have the money to pay for surgery. Baloo is a part of our family and is very special, hes only 2 and has the potential of a long life
