Bandida is a 6 year old German Shepherd Dog in Sandy Springs, GA, who needs $4,000 for PPLO - Knee Surgery.

I got Bandida a little over six years ago when she was six weeks old from a person who had German Shepherd pups. With my being a 79 y.o. Vietnam vet, I need a dog to help me through my depressions and give a bit of security to my home. Of course, I socialized her, and she is not aggressive, but people will think twice about trying to break in when they see Bandy barking from my window.

Bandy has been a healthy dog up to this occurrence Her vet is a wellness plan with Banfield Pet Hospital, on Johnson Ferry Road in Marietta, GA. Several days ago, I noticed her having difficulty getting up , but after she walked around, she seemed fine. On Saturday, she was running the fence with the neighbor's dog, and she was much worse. Vet diagnosed her with(Canine Cruciate Ligament) injury.

Bandy is my baby and has cheered me up from depression many times (diabetes, heart issues, stage four kidney disease, hernia, prostate issues - medical conditions I have). She does not like rain and will not go out unless I get wet with her. Loud lightening will bring her to my side to be calmed down. We are there for each other. I need her as much as she needs me.

I live on Social Security, and wellness plan does not cover this. The nurse even told me she doesn't think Banfield has doctors who can do this surgery another issue facing. I am so worried at wits end. Even Xrays alone in excess of $500. Surgery will be huge!
