About this campaign
Bandit had a rough start in life, found on the side of the road with head trauma; we rescued him as soon as I saw his beautiful eyes. He has been nothing but a ball of goofiness and joy to pack. He is the youngest of our 3 rescues: Tucker, Chevy, and Bandit. Bandit came home in 2020 and was never alone because of everyone home from COVID. He quickly became my husband's shadow,
Bandit thinks he is a lap dog and doesn't realize most people don't like a 62 pound dog trying to cuddle on their lap. He greets you at the door with a loud bark but he has a wiggle butt with his tail spinning too. As soon he gets a good sniff he is ready to give kisses. Bandit loves to army crawl across the carpet to greet you too and will never pass up treats
Bandit guards our sky across the backyard when he is feeling good by barking at the birds flying over. I think they flow over just to see him bark up to the clouds and chase them as if he could catch them. Some days you will see him tossing his toys up in the air, playing & entertaining himself. He loves to go for car rides and will definitely pout when he doesn't get to go.
Last spring Bandit began limping on his right leg. Our vet ordered rest and medication for about 8 months. With no improvement I scheduled an appointment with a specialist & three days later Bandit was chasing birds and let out a loud yelp. That day he was dragging his back legs. I took him to Veterinary Specialty Center, in Melbourne, FL where we were told he needs TPLO surgery on both legs.
Bandit is so young & we cannot let him suffer. We have drained our savings for one surgery but now we are asking for help for the second surgery. This is a significant, unexpected financial cost.
