Barbour is a four-month-old Domestic Short Hair kitten in Huntington, WV, who needs $2,000 for urgent surgery.

Barbour is only four months old and has already had a traumatic life. He ended up in an animal shelter gasping for breath and barely able to walk.

When One By One Animal Advocates heard about this sweet, injured kitten who was struggling to live, they rushed him to Proctorville Animal Clinic.

X-rays revealed a horrific glimpse of the abuse Barbour suffered: He had a traumatic tear in his diaphragm. The wall inside his body was ripped on both sides, and his leg was fractured. The veterinarian suspects someone kicked this tiny, innocent kitten and caused these devastating injuries.

Now Barbour needs urgent surgery to fix his diaphragm and leg.

"Without us being there to assist him, Barbour would have faced euthanasia at the shelter," Heather A., from One By One, tells Waggle. "Repairing his diaphragm is a very complicated surgery, and repairing his leg will be another operation. But once he heals, he will be the perfect addition to a wonderful family."
