About this campaign
Barley came into my life before he was even born. A friend's pug was pregnant and I jumped at the chance to have one of the puppies when it was born. It had gone many years without a dog ever since my last dog, Isis, passed away at 17 years old. Her passing was rough and it took a long time before I was comfortable having another dog. I'm so glad I waited because Barley is the best.
Barley LOVES everyone automatically and unconditionally. He gets SO happy when he sees people, dogs, cats, or really anything that moves. He's such an affectionate lover and cuddler, he just wants pets and cuddles from everyone. And his love is infectious because everyone instantly falls in love with him as soon as they meet him.
Barley is such a smart and affectionate dog. He's basically the poster child for pugs in general since they were originally bred for companionship, unlike most breeds. And he takes his job VERY seriously.
I live up in the mountains in a town with no friends of family other than Barley. He keeps me sane. Not sure how long I would've lasted up here without him.
Barley is currently having what I believe to be stomach issues. He won't eat or drink, seems to have trouble lying down, arches his back when standing or walking, and has the shivers every so often. He hasn't been vomiting, fortunately, but he also won't poop (but he has no problem peeing). He's very lethargic and I'm very worried.
I don't get paid for another week, but I don't think Barley can wait that long. He's not eating or drinking and I don't get him the care he needs, I'm afraid he might not survive until payday. The vets won't do anything for him unless I have money to give them.
