Bartholomew is a 1 year old Labrador Retriever in Lilly, PA, who needs $1,800 for Femoral Head Osteotomy (FHO).

Bartholomew, aka Bart, is our 1yr. old Silver Lab, who came to live with us on 10-18-23. We always made older rescues part of our family, but we wanted a Lab pup to raise. That started our search and were lucky to find a wonderful breeder and that is how we found our sweet boy. Bart has a rescued 7 yr. old Terrier mix sister, 2 rescued feline brothers, and 1 feline sister, who all adore him.

On 5-23-24, Bart was hit by reckless driver, speeding by our home. We rushed him to VCA Metzger's hospital, where emergency surgery was done to repair his dislocated hip. Here we are 3 months later and instead of heeling, Bart is in immediate need of another surgery. His very costly, Toggle repair didn't hold, and now his re-dislocation is putting pressure on his spine, extremely painful for him.

Bart is a blessing to our family. We've only had him less than a year, we just celebrated his 1st birthday 08-19-24, but we are so in love with him and can't imagine a life without his big paw hugs, or his very vocal welcomes with big wet kisses. The best part of having Bart is receiving all the love he gives in return. Everyone that knows him, loves him; he draws you in with his beautiful eyes.

Bart's costly emergency care has exhausted our extra funds. Currently, I'm unemployed for medical reasons. Down 1 income, paying for my health care, has been detrimental to finances, and that's why I have a pressing financial need for Bart's care. It's sad to see him suffer.
