When Animal Aid of Tulsa first heard about Basil, the clock was ticking on her life.

She was in a shelter with a broken jaw and scheduled to be killed.

We couldn't let that happen," Yvonne H., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "We agreed to pull her and get her to one of our vets."

The rescue immediately noticed how Basil is incredibly friendly and outgoing.

"Even with her mangled jaw, she came right up to employees as if to ask for help with her injuries," Lisa says. "She's a model patient. She's not afraid of strangers and wants to be friends with everyone."

Now Basil needs surgery to fix her jaw at Woodland West Animal Hospital. The rescue launched this fundraiser, hoping you, too, will fall in love with Basil and help her get the operation that will change her life.

"We are a nonprofit rescue that only takes sick and injured homeless cats and dogs," Lisa says. "Our monthly vet bills average thousands of dollars, and the only way we can continue to help more animals is with donations."
