About this campaign
My son and I adopted Batman from the Humane Society in November. He had a long journey from Hawaii and we fell in love with his sweet disposition immediately. He really rescued us. My son has a very strong bond with Batman and calls him his “sweetie sweetheart.” He cuddles with us in bed every night.
Batman is my 7 year old son’s best friend and my cuddly companion when I’m alone. We can’t imagine life without him. Batman is my co-worker too. He’s right there at my desk keep me amused during my work day. He helps my son stay calm when he’s feeling anxious or scared and that means so much to the both us.
He loves his toy mice! We bought a big bag and he pretty much played soccer with them all day. Since being adopted, he’s grown so much more loving! Everyday he shows appreciation by snuggling, purring, playing and just being comfortable because he knows he’s finally safe and forever loved. My favorite are the bedtime snuggles.
Back in March, I noticed he was straining and had blood in his urine. I took him to the ER and they anticipated a 36 hour stay, because he was blocked, but ended up sending him early after he removed his own catheter. Unfortunately, he is blocked again. He’s now being treated by a different vet who has assured me he’ll be treated 100% before being discharged.
This is the second time I’ve had to pay for his ER stay and I simply can’t afford it. I’m a single mom and work hard, but life is expensive. I pay for my son’s daycare and pretty much everything. I didn’t anticipate two ER visits.
