About this campaign

Baylee joined us Christmas Eve. I held and sang to her for the 3-hour drive home. We soon found she is deaf and partially blind. The breeder only offered to take her back, but we knew she wouldn’t be safe there. Now, she’s our "velcro dog," inseparable from her Boston and Westie brothers. She knows sign language and sleeps by my side every night so I can monitor her breathing through the dark.

Baylee has severe BOAS. Even after a partial palate surgery, she gasps for air and needs a nebulizer to breathe. Eating and sleeping are constant struggles. She is a patient at Papillion Animal Hospital, and we are working to get her to a specialist at Lone Tree. Her snorting isn't cute; it’s a battle for oxygen. She needs this surgery to stop the coughing and finally breathe freely.

Baylee is pure joy and energy. She loves the dog park and wrestling with her brothers. She is so bonded to us that she cannot be kenneled or separated; she once cried for hours at my work looking for her siblings. We fear she would die of heartbreak in a rescue. She feels safe and deeply loved here. She communicates through signs and a "velcro" devotion that keeps our family whole.

Surgery estimates are $2,500–$6,000. We manage our other dogs' needs, but this is beyond our reach. To have Baylee healthy means she can finally sleep without gasping and play without fear. Your support keeps our girl with the family she loves and gives her the gift of every
