We adopted Bear, a lovable and active Lab mix, after we had lost Jackson, our 12.5 year old Redbone Coonhound to heart disease. Bear has brought so much joy and comfort to our lives, but he has been tasked with health issues of his own.

Bear was diagnosed with parvovirus the same week he was scheduled to go to the vet for his first exam and vaccinations. The emergency vets and our primary veterinarian didn’t make us any promises, as parvo can easily go downhill, but with supportive care and help from my
ICU nurse mom, he made a full recovery. Once we was better, he continued with his vaccines and well puppy visits with no issue.

Bear spends much of his time during the work week on the farm with Mike where he can run and play and get all of the exercise that he needs. He is never deprived of treats and I make him peanut butter dog biscuits that he absolutely loves.
