Bear is a 3-year-old German Shepherd Husky Mix in Cleveland , NC, who needs $2,000 for MRI.

Bear is our family pet. He’s been with us since he was a baby pup. He is our 3 year old German shepherd husky mix. Ever since he was little he has been attached to my son who is now almost 4. They are best friends who got the chance to grow up together. They love chasing each other in the yard. Searching for cows in the fields on our walks, chasing squirrels, and playing fetch.

Bear loves playing with our pet turkeys, and loves to be loved on by our kids. We have a one year old and soon to be four year old. We also have a cat that he loves to annoying and play with. Bear always sleeps next to my husband or my son.

Bear has a lot of fur, during summer he loves to play in his own kiddy pool, or sprinklers. During the winter he enjoys laying in the cold grass or dirt. He’s a very good guard dog for our family, but sometimes he does spook himself when he sees his reflection in the windows or doors at night.

October 28th, 2023. Bear was hit by a vehicle. He had an X-ray done has no broken bones. He does have a slipped disc that is putting pressure on his spine. Bear has been paralyzed since the accident. He has shown improvements by moving his tail and left leg. Bear is in urgent need of a MRI to determine if it could get better over time or needs surgery.

I am a mom of two. I stay at home with the kids and my husband just started a new job. I was planning on returning to work but since the accident I have to be home to care for bear. We are struggling to figure out how to pay for the MRI and surgery if needed.
