About this campaign

Bear came into my life when I was 14 as a promotion gift from 8th grade. I asked my mom for a turtle but when we heard that our family friend no longer wanted their dog anymore and were getting rid of him we knew we had to take him in, and he has been part of our family ever since. Bear has been part of our family for 9 years and he has lived with me, my boyfriend, and our other dog for a year.

Bear was the only dog in his household for most of his life but when my boyfriend and I moved in he had to adjust to having a sister, our other dog Harley. Bear loves having a companion and follows Harley all day. Bear loves to play with his tennis ball and can often be found in his bed cuddling with his ball. He is a social dog and wants to say hi to every dog or person we pass on walks.

Bear is the epitome of a kind, happy, loving dog. He is always happy to see anyone that walks through the door and becomes best friends with person or dog he is introduced to. He is always getting his ball stuck under the couch and will try to get everyones attention in the room until someone gets it for him.

Bear has a tumor on his stomach that has been growing and needs to be removed. He also has dental issues. His vet team at Mohnacky Animal Hospital have recommended he undergo surgery to remove his tumor and have dental work done for him, including dental cleaning and extraction. His tumor is the main concern as it as been growing larger.

I am a full time graduate student and I am not in the financial situation in which I can pay for these surgeries. This is a major financial burden for me and I will not be able to pay without assistance.
