Bear is a 5-year-old Pitbull/Mastiff Mix in Henderson, TX, who needs $2,000 for Urgent Testing, Xray, and Surgery.

Bear was rescued from a home that he may had endured some abuse as he seems fearful of people especially strangers. He has been nothing but a joy addition to the family along with our other dog and our cats who he adores but is afraid of. He is starting to become more comfortable with the cats. He would protect them if he needs to and he even alerts me of any dangers.

He has been the sweetest and most smartest dog I’ve ever had. He has more common sense than any of the dogs we have raised. He alerts me of any dangers, of anything that will need my attention, he has been trained as a service/working dog but more than anything my best buddy that has always been by my side, he has always been my ears!

He brings laugher, love and joy to others regardless of some fears he has which is getting better as years go by. He is re-learning social interactions with strangers learning that not everyone is the same and when I tell him it’s fine, it’s okay, I can see the trust in his eyes. He walks by my side constantly, he even waits outside the car for me to get out of the car to go in the house with me.

He rapidly lost weight within 4 days and will not eat, cries out of pain the last couple of days, this morning he tried to go to the bathroom and end up pooping blood. We took him to Henderson Animal Care Hospital and the vet diagnosed him to have a mass in his stomach which made me think he swallowed something hard, possibly wood, and it’s tearing him on the inside from trying to pass through.

I just got a job with the county and this event is an unexpected expense and a very urgent one. He has lost approx 10 pounds. He has always been on healthy diet, acres of land run and roam. The only thing he needs is the testing accurately diagnose, and possibly surgery.
