About this campaign

My husband and I are both disabled veterans living on a fixed income and we were lucky enough to be able to rescue Bear 6 years ago. He was very badly taken care of but we nursed him back to health. He is the most lovable and dedicated friend a person could want. He loves to run and play with toys and kids and gives us more joy then we ever expected.

Last week Bear started having problems urinating and stopped eating and drinking. After 3 days we had to go to the University Animal Hospital. In Lake Charles LA. they did xrys and ultrasound and discovered large stones in his bladder and needed emergency surgery to remove them or his bladder would explode. The total cost is $2000. We can't get credit anywhere but they did the surgery anyways.

Bear is more then a companion he's our friend and oddly enough we talk to him like he's our child. He goes everywhere we go when traveling and helps keep us safe as a great guard dog.

Both of us receive a small VA disability check totalling $500 a month and I get Social security for about $1500 our monthly expenses are exactly what we bring in as we have a tight budget. Rent is 885, car and ins. 450, food 300 phone 100 util 250
