About this campaign
I met Bear in September of 2010. She was a very sick pup as she was found out in the desert of Barstow, California. She immediately melted my heart and I knew she was meant to be mine. We have been inseparable ever since. She has a big sister cat who sleeps with her very night. Also has a little sister retriever Betsy who follows her around.
Bear sleeps next to me in bed with her fur siblings Bella and Betsy. Bear loves to cuddle and thinks she is a lap dog, which I always let her lay in my lap. She loves to play fetch with her tennis balls, but her favorite toy is her stuffed rabbit she has had for the years. She'll never go to bed without it.
Bear is my source of support. When I am upset, she always comes and lays her head on my shoulder, giving me a hug. She doesn't like to give licks. So, when I ask her for a kiss, she will press her mouth up against my cheek. She is a very special girl. When I am unable to play fetch with her, she will find three tennis balls and play soccer with her fur sister Betsy. She always looks over Betsy.
Bear is having episodes of low blood sugar for a few months. Her vet referred me to a specialist where they performed a CT exam and found a mass in the right horn of her pancreas and spleen, an insulinoma. Doctors say the prognosis is great for a 5 year survival post surgery. The veterinarian treating her is VCA Valley Oak Vet Center in Chico, CA.
I have already spent close to $7k on her medical bills to get this diagnosis. My CareCredit and savings have been exhausted. Surgery may cost an additional $6-8k. I just need some help. Having her healthy means the world to me. She is my world, I love her more than anything.
