I adopted Bea in 2018, and she's been my friend and companion through lots of ups and downs. She met James in 2021 and immediately loved him (it helped that he was prepared with a bag of treats for her), and a couple of her favorite activities are listening to him play guitar and watching baseball games with him. Our home wouldn't be complete without her regal and affectionate presence.

We noticed a small lump on Bea's ribs last year, which the vet said was nothing to worry about at that time. It's grown a lot recently, to about 12 cm. The new vet at Washington Dog and Cat Hospital did not find evidence of cancer after the initial test, but they said the growth needs to be removed to be sure. It's conitinuing to grow and is starting to affect her mobility.

Bea has always been talkative - she chirps back to us whenever we talk to her. She's gotten lazier as she's aged, usually prefering naps, treats, and getting brushed to strenuous activity. But she still goes into "crazy mode" at night sometimes and zooms around the house, and loves sitting on the porch in the sun to watch the birds.

Having to leave my job, dealing with my own health issues, and trying to keep up the work of planning our wedding have made this a very stressful time, emotionally and financially. We do not want Bea to suffer from lack of needed care.
