About this campaign

I'm looking for assistance for my 10-month old kitten "Beefy". I adopted her from a PAWS center out of Texas. She was recently diagnosed with a diaphragmatic hernia which is causing bad heart and respiratory problems. It is not immediately urgent but will kill her before too long. Fortunately, the condition is 100% correctable but also costly.

I adopted Beefy to be an emotional support for me while I attend college. This past year has been very hard for me and my pets have always helped me through my toughest times. She’s been an indoor kitty, gets along well with both our dogs and my siblings. She loves sneaking into boxes, jumping and sleeping on the couch. Beefy is the sweetest girl I could ever have hoped to adopt.

Beefy is special in so many ways. She has eyes that make you smile by just looking at her. She runs and jumps on you first thing in the morning and begins purring. She is so happy to be next to you. She also comes running when I call her name, just like a puppy. Beefy's favorite activity during the day is to sit on the top of the couch and wach the birds landing on the window bird feeders.

We have had testing done to ensure Beefy's correct diagnosis. We have called many local vets, but I would like to choose the Washington State University Teaching Hospital for the procedure because they are the lowest cost but also have DACVS certifications.

I'm young myself. I am a new college student and don't have the resources to pay in full, so I'm wishful for a help through grants, financing and family so that I can save my companion. Beefy is so special and I hope we can save her.
