Beetle is a five-year-old Domestic Shorthair cat in Erie, PA, who needs $2,000 for emergency care.

A good Samaritan found Beetle shaking in fear, hiding in a bush with wounds so graphic that he looked like over half his face and neck were missing.

Tragically, he had been viciously attacked by something or someone.

Companion Animal Coalition rescue whisked Beetle to the emergency animal hospital, where the staff quickly sedated him to try to fix his lacerations and puncture wounds.

He now needs extensive bloodwork, numerous medications for pain, and antibiotics to ward off any infections. He's been hospitalized for a week, and Companion Animal Coalition needs your help paying for his care.

"Beetle has endured a horrific and terribly painful experience, but he knows he is now safe," Lea S., with the rescue, tells Waggle. "He is such a loving boy who melts into any arms that offer to hold him. The staff makes custom adorable bandages they wrap for him each day. They shower him with the love and affection he readily welcomes. His spirit remains so strong."
