About this campaign
I rescued Bella from the Jackson County Animal shelter in January of 2018, but the truth is, she rescued Me. She showed up in a time of great grief in my Life and has brought immeasurable peace, and joy, frolic and fun to not only Me, but to all who encounter her. She is my daily companion on my mountain mail route. We are inseparable.
Bella is the sweetest little girl you’ve EVER met. In over two years together, I’ve heard her bark exactly three times (all were very short and involved a cat). She loves our morning walks, going on adventures, playing with other pups and cuddling. She is very lovey and will take belly rubs all day every day.
I emptied out the small emergency fund I had to get her into the hospital but she is very likely going to need additional care that the hospital will not administer until they have funds in hand. Bella is my baby and it would mean everything to me for her to be well again.
Bella started throwing up and acting listless a few days ago. By the time I could get her in to the vet she was in acute renal failure, secondary to an active Ehrlichia infection (from a tick bite). She is being treated at Southern Oregon Veterinary Specialty Center in Medford and one of her veterinarians is Dr Hoyt.
Bella loves everyone she meets, and makes it known. She’s always right by your side when you need her the most. Though her early days on this earth were tough, she is tougher. The light that shines from her radiates for miles. She loves belly rubs so much she will flop over on her back and put her paws over her face to signal its time for belly rubs.
