Bella is a 1-year-old Cane Corso in Mooresville, NC, who needs $2,000 for Gastrotomy.

2 years ago we lost our beloved dachshund - Oscar of 13 years. My husband and I had thought about adopting another pet, and the kids were older and more responsible to care for a pet now. We always seemed to talk ourselves out of it. Then one day my husband mentioned a litter of Cane Corso puppies he saw while doing work near the breeders home. 2 days later he brought home 9 week old Bella.

Our younger kids are now 13 and 10 and little Bella sure brings them back to life. There's no starring at a screen with her around, and she will not put up with a couch potato! She is a year old now and she's just as big and clumsy as they are. We live in the country and she often goes where they go. She's found her voice and she's not afraid to let the mailman know she's on the other side!

Bella is unable to pass whatever is in her stomach and we are now at the point we need to make a decision for treatment. We need help funding the surgery to cut open her stomach and remove the objects or slowly watch her die of starvation. Please help fund Bella's surgery.

Several weeks ago Bella began not eating or drinking. We thought maybe she just over heated from running with the kids in the NC heat. But when she was no better after several days we went straight to the vet. Her x-ray confirmed several objects in her stomach-- possibly stones or toys. We were given meds to coat her stomach and put her on a high fiber/protein diet with hopes it would all pass.

Since it was around the holidays when we got Bella. We left the jingle bells on our door and taught her to ring the bells with her nose when she needs to go out. This was the best idea ever; it saved our carpet and our sanity!! She has recently learned to push open doors with her nose and has no problem.
