Belle is a 4 year old Mix-Breed in Christiansburg, VA, who needs $2,000 for Tibial Plateau Leveling Osteotomy (TPLO).

Belle came into my life January of 2020 when I got her from Melissa’s Second Chances, a non-profit animal rescue in Shawnee, KS. She immediately moved with me to college at the University of Missouri. From there she has been well traveled living in Kansas City, Dallas, and now Blacksburg, VA where she lives with my wife and I!

Belle, my wife, and I just moved to Blacksburg, VA two weeks ago for me to start medical school. While walking one of the many beautiful trails in town Belle spotted a bunny to chase and took off after it. By the 3rd or 4th step you could tell something was wrong, as she stopped using one of her back legs. After a visit to Town & Country Veterinary Clinic, Belle was diagnosed with a torn ACL.

Belle is loyal to a fault and quite overprotective of the food, toys, and people she loves. She is rather shy and slow to warm up to people, but once she does you have a friend for life. Belle has quirky habits, like laying down when she eats, and makes very human-like expressions when you talk to her. Sometimes you feel like she knows exactly what you’re saying!

I just started medical school and had to take out loans to pay for the 1st year of school. My wife and I currently have no source of income, and Belle’s ACL repair surgery will cost just under $4,500. Any help would be greatly appreciated to get Belle back to full health!
