Benedict is a 7-month-old Siamese Mix in Portland , OR, who needs $2,000 for Ophtho, Entropion Simple Bilateral.

On June 30th I rescued Benedict from my local Shelter Green-hill Humane Society. He was the last of his liter after being returned from his foster home and instantly took a liking to me. He immediately let me pick him up and was purring so loudly I was instantly in love. I knew at that moment I was going to take him home with me, so he could meet his new brother Egg.

I quickly learned that Benedict's favorite place was on my shoulders. Whenever I would go to the bathroom he found a way to sit on my shoulders no matter how difficult it might have been to get there. This action was immediately something I adored, due to the fact it meant he just wanted to be with me. He loved our home from the beginning and couldn't wait to be a brother!

One attribute everyone noticed when they first met Benedict was his eyes. They were big and bright blue with the cutest cross eye! His cross-eyes made everything he did that much cuter and endearing. He was my silly little guy, while his brother was the older more intense-looking one. They both had so many differences in looks and personality, but they got along so well!

He has been in and out of the vet for the past month, initially with an ulcer in one eye that progressed to ulcers in both. By the third visit, our vet recommended a referral to an ophthalmologist because of the lack of progress. At the visit, Benedict was said to have bilateral entropion (rolling in of the eyelid margin), a superficial corneal ulcer, and a corneal sequestrum -apiece that has died

Before I was able to get insurance on Benedict he suddenly had eye problems. If I were to get it now there would be no coverage, because it is a preexisting condition. I just graduated from University and don't have the funds for a $3000 surgery. But Benedict needs help.
