This is Benji. We adopted him about 2 years ago from a shelter in Austin, TX. He immediately bonded with my son, Patrick. They became the best of friends. Benji has helped him deal with the death of his dad. When no one is home he is crated as he has horrible separation anxiety if my son’s not there.

Benji got out of his crate on Monday and ate the straps from my son’s backpack. He purged half of what he ate and hasn’t thrown up anymore. He’s throwing up bile. He’s lethargic, doesn’t want to eat or drink anything. VEG South Lamar saw him but won’t do anything unless we have the $1300 to pay for tests. It may be an intestinal blockage they mentioned.

Benji’s favorite thing is doing anything with my son. Going to the dog parks, playing ball or just hanging out watching TV. My son’s dad passed away and Benji has been there. He’s his outlet to let things out or just be there to listen with no judgment and unconditional love.

I am on a limited income. Social Security Disability Insurance. I have a very tight budget to make sure we all have a roof and food. There’s very little extra. It would mean everything to get Benji healthy. It’s killing me that I cannot help and he’s in pain.
