We got Benji and his sister Hazel from a farm a couple weeks ago. Both extremely thin and malnourished, anemic and had parasites. Unfortunately Hazel only lived for 3 days after we brought her home, but Benji is still kicking! We refer to him as our “problem child” because of his health issues and worries. He has already been to the vet 4x since we have had him.

Benji is so sweet with everyone in the house, us, kids, cats and dogs. He is always purring and looking for attention and happy to cuddle on your lap or curl up with the dogs on the couch! He lets the kids carry him around and loves to sleep in bed with his favorite humans! He got his name Benji because he is our Benjamin Button. Born sick and frail but will hopefully get healthier as he grows!

We are a one income family, my husband works and I am in school. We have two toddlers and simply can not afford multiple vet visits in a one to two week time frame. Taking him once or twice a month is one thing but 4x in one week is a lot.

Benji has had several medical issues since we have brought him home. He came home anemic, malnourished, he had worms and was dehydrated. We got him to the vet and they were “cautiously optimistic” our most recent visits were because his eyelid no longer closes so he needs chronic treatment for that. Now we are running the risk of severe illness, he has liquid stool and won’t eat much.

Benji is a special kitten because he is the last survivor from his litter. We are trying very hard to keep him going, sometimes there are setbacks but he makes it worth it. He is honestly the sweetest kitten you’ll ever meet. He gives nose kisses and loves to curl up with you. He is also very vocal, he is tiny but his purr is loud, you can easily hear it across the room!
