Help Bentley Get the Medical Answers He Needs

This handsome senior boy has been with Adopt a Cat Foundation for several years, and in that time, he has come such a long way. When he first arrived, Bentley kept his distance — unsure of people, unsure of touch, unsure of the world around him. But slowly, with patience and kindness, he began to trust.

Today, he happily approaches volunteers, begging for pets, soaking up affection in a way we once never imagined. His transformation is one of the sweetest we’ve seen. But despite all his progress, Bentley has remained overlooked.

Recently, volunteers noticed that his third eyelid is suddenly showing, and we don’t yet know why. For a senior cat, any sudden change like this is concerning. Bentley will be going to our vet this week for a full exam and diagnostics so we can understand what’s happening and make sure he gets the treatment he needs.

As a small, all-volunteer rescue caring for more than 100 cats, these unexpected medical expenses add up quickly. But Bentley deserves answers — and comfort. Please help us make sure Bentley gets the medical care he needs — and the comfort he’s earned.

Update 12/20/25

Bentley was recently losing weight, so our volunteers brought him to the vet for an exam. The cause quickly became clear: Bentley was suffering from significant dental disease that was making it painful for him to eat. He required a dental procedure with several tooth extractions, which greatly increased his veterinary costs.

The good news is that Bentley is going to feel so much better now that he’s no longer living with chronic mouth pain.
