Bento is a 2 year old Siberian Husky in Fairview, NC, who needs $2,000 for Cataract Surgery for Both Eyes.

We rescued Bento from a hoarding situation when he was about 6 months old. He has been the joy of the family ever sense. He is so sweet with our cat and our two daughters. We even call him the baby sitter as he never leaves our new baby alone. He is the best dog I have ever met.

At around 1.5 years old, we noticed grayish-white circles appearing in his black pupils in his eyes. We took him to the vet who referred us to a veterinary hospital called SAVES (South Asheville Veterinary Emergency Specialty. They informed us he had something called juvenile cataracts. He is 80% blind. Without surgery, he will loose his eyesight and likely develop glaucoma.

Bento loves being called "good boy." He is the best boy and so sweet with everyone he meets. His favorite activity is lounging on the couch with the cat. His favorite spot in the car is right next to our baby's carseat. He loves going to the French Broad River dog park too.

I recently spent a lot in medical bills following my at risk pregnancy and risky induction and baby's follow up care. I do not have any extra money for Bento's surgery at this time. The surgery is going to cost close to $5,500.
