About this campaign
Berlin is the oldest of our 3 fur children. We adopted her from the Sacramento Spca in 2015. She came home with aggressive kennel cough, but with lots of TLC she quickly adjusted. 3 years later and 2 dogs more Berlin quickly declined and was diagnosed with Doggie Diabetes. Soon after that she lost her eyes to the disease. I have been caring for her round the clock with all the love I can give.
Berlin has 2 siblings. Gunner a 7 year old Doberman rotwiller. And Marsali and 5 year old Mutt. Before Marsali was added to the pack Berlin was the sole provider of Gunners play. Although she was much smaller she did what she could. Unfortunately because of her handicap and size both dogs tend to leave her be. They do come around her bed and give her kisses and love. It's very endearing to see.
Although Berlin is blind she can very much see with her nose. She can locate the smallest crumb from under the couch and has no problem with crawling under to find it. She is speedy and spunky. She gives much attitude when it comes to things she wants. She is a cuddle bug and loves a warm blanket. You will never catch her without some sort of clothes garment. She loves to dress to impress.
Berlin has an extensive medical file. Her diabetes comes with insulin, needles, ketone strips, subcutaneous fluid ringers, glucose meters with strips and lancets. She requires close care from both me and the staff at our vet hospital. Everyone knows Berlin there and everyone is aware of her case file.
We are expecting our first child, a baby girl due March 23rd. Unfortunately because of inflation as well, and my husbands medical retirement we are really struggling to find a way to keep Berlin from being put to sleep because of cost.
