About this campaign

My support animal Bernie, a Maine Coon mixed cat, sustained an unfortunate accident on Saturday, March 23rd which has left him with a broken left hip. This couldn't have occurred at a worse time, as my mother was just diagnosed with a bladder mass measuring over six inches in diameter. She is severely handicapped, with cerebral palsy leaving her with severe cognitive and physical decline.

Bernies left hip requires the FHO hip procedure, of which a portion of bone is removed, allowing the surrounding muscle to tighten in around the afflicted area. This provides easement of pain and allows him to regain functionality of his left hip. Being that the only way I can get him around is through Uber, as I'm without a car, the closest hospital is Dogs and Cats Veterinary Referral of Bowie.

Bernie has always been such a strong positive force, helping to keep me as relaxed and calm as possible while working tirelessly to maintain quality of life for my mother, work on insurance matters, handle copious doctors appointments, administer medications, change diapers, feed, bathe and handle all matters for my mother while neglecting my own needs.

My mother spent all of last year in and out of hospitals and nursing homes, suffering from intestinal impaction and numerous infections. The sacrifice is daunting, has left me broke and the medical bills amassed has left us with no possible means of helping out our beloved
