Betty is a 8-year-old Hound Mix in Manalapan, NJ, who needs $1,000 for Chemotherapy.

My twin daughters and I have had Betty since she was a puppy (March 1, 2014). She came to us at a difficult time in our lives. My daughters were 5, and I had just finalized a very difficult divorce but we were ok because we had Betty! She has been the calm during our storm and we cannot imagine living life without her in it!

Betty loves treats, taking long walks, snuggling and sleeping in my bed every night. Every day when my daughters get home from school, they are now 14, Betty is always at the front door ready to greet them with her wagging tail and dog love. She typically follows us around in the house. So if we are in the living room, Betty will be there and if we move to upstairs, she is right along with us.

Betty is the most special dog girl to us because she has been our loyal best friend through all of the good times along with some bad. She is always there to make us smile every time she comes inside and cutely demands her treat. She takes her treats so gently that it amazes us. She is so cute the way she rests, plays and basically does everything! We are enamored by her always!

I found a lump on Betty's throat and I knew it had to be dealt with immediately. I took her to her vet and it was biopsied and determined to be lymphoma. Needless to say, we are completely devastated. Betty was there for me when I had breast cancer and I want to by her side as she endures her chemotherapy.

The chemotherapy I had was very aggressive treatment. I also had 3 months of daily radiation and surgery. I am in remission but from that I got a lot of serious conditions disabling me. I am currently living on very little and waiting on my hearing date for social security.
