Big Mama Needs a Big Miracle

Meet the sweetest girl named Big Mama. She is the dog that has been with FosterDocHouston Rescue the longest—waiting patiently for her forever home since October. Amazingly, they rescued her from BARC, Houston’s largest high-kill shelter, and gave her the second chance she so deeply deserved.

She’s independent, smart, and endlessly loyal. A quick learner with a playful heart, Big Mama brings joy and calm wherever she goes. She’s the kind of dog who leans into your side when you need it most.

But recently, while playing, Big Mama took a fall and started limping badly. The diagnosis? A full ACL tear in her hind leg. She’s in pain, and without surgery, her recovery will be long and difficult.

She’s scheduled for further treatment with Houston Mobile Veterinary Surgery, but the procedure will cost several thousand dollars—something their small, nonprofit rescue simply can’t cover alone.
