About this campaign

When Mark R., the founder of Southern California Pit Bull Rescue, spotted Big Momma in need at a shelter, he could immediately tell the ten-year-old pooch was fun, friendly, and full of life. "This loving gal has a smile that will knock your socks off," Mark tells Waggle.

Soon after Mark saved her, the rescue's veterinarian, Dr. Koltfarber at VCA Westlake Village Animal Hospital, discovered the poor dog was covered in tumors! "She even had one on her tail. The tumor was so large that it moved when her tail wagged," Mark adds.

Big Momma needs surgery to remove seven tumors immediately; one is even wrapped around a toe on her paw. The nonprofit rescue depends on donations to help pay for all the medical care the dogs the group saves need. Southern California Pit Bull Rescue has saved 90 dogs so far, and with your help, that number will keep growing.

Mark is also fostering Big Momma and says she truly lives up to her name. She immediately took on the role of "mama" to Mark's other rescue dogs, showing them love and comfort on their healing journeys.
