Binky is a 7-year-old Domestic Long Hair Cat in Sparks, NV, who needs $2,000 for Dental Surgery to Save His Eye and Life.

Binky is a rescue kitty. Binky's cat mom, Maureen is 85 and lives alone on a limited income of $1,600 a month. In addition to caring for her own animals, Maureen has tended to caring for feral cats in her neighborhood for the past 16 years, often working with organizations to catch, alter, and release them. It's a labor of love for Maureen.

Maureen and Binky lead a quiet life in a little house shared with other 4-legged rescue friends. It's a quite life and a good one. But because Binky is in pain he hides a lot these days and Maureen is anxious. The vet put Binky on antibiotics but it's only a temporary fix. Without surgery, Binky's health will continue to decline when he could live a long life with treatment.

Binky is a grateful feline. On good days when he isn't sunning on the window sill, he's likely found napping on the bed. Binky's life wasn't always so cushy. He was abandoned when people moved off without him. Binky is bashful given his previous lack of human commitment. But he hit the people lottery when Maureen took him in. She's his favorite person in the world - we can kind of see why.

Binky is struggling with serious health issues. One of his eyes has chronic infections. Dr. Schwegel of VCA A Plus Animal Hospital believes Binky’s eye health issues are linked to the extremely poor condition of his teeth. She said that aside from this Binky’s vitals are excellent and performing surgery to clean and remove some severely damaged/infected teeth Blinky's life would be much improved.

You may recognize Maureen's name. Her story made national headlines. She was assaulted in the alley behind her home by a local Fireman last December as she was feeding feral cats and suffered a traumatic brain injury. Maureen doesn't have the means to restore Binky's health.
