About this campaign

Biscuit is our retired racer, who left the track and adapted happily to the couch and toys. Every morning, he grabs one of his toys to take outside with him. Sometimes he just carries it around, sometimes he drops it. It never fails to make us smile. Even with the cone of shame, he still plays and shows his happy spirit.

He has this expression that is a combination of sweetness, trust, and derp. I wish I were an artist because I would turn him into a comic. He is such a cartoon character. Biscuit is a leaner. He will stand beside you and then lean into you, making you pet him. He is loving and affectionate--if I am sitting on the couch, he will cram himself into the small space beside me, instead of the larger space on the other side. He's a cuddle bug.

When we first learned he had cancer, we were very worried. It's such a scary diagnosis. And to have to amputate a leg to get rid of it is equally frightening. We trust the team of vets at Pine Creek Animal Hospital. Dr. Brophy is his usual vet, but was unavailable when I took Biscuit in for an emergency appointment--after he started chewing at the growth on his leg ( I had a scheduled appointment a few days later). Dr Knox and Dr. Tuma have been the team working on his case since the cancer diagnosis.

We view our pets as family members and we want to do what is best for our boy. My husband had his own health challenges this year. He was in the hospital and missed about 5 months of work. He's self-employed, so it really put a dent in our finances. It has been hard trying to figure out how to pay for this surgery. Getting some help would relieve some of the pressure.

We are grateful to anyone who is able to contribute. We hope to pay it forward some day.
