About this campaign

Blakie came into our lives 9 years ago. A stray cat showed up on our door step yowling. I told my daughter she could feed it a can of tuna. 2 days later that same cat showed up with 4 little kittens. I went an bought a bag of cat food. We were living in a rental with a mouse problem and Mama Cat brought me a dead mouse. And that is how we got a cat. My daughter named her Blackie.

Blackie and my daughter have been best friends ever since. She has also been my study buddy while I earned my degree in Nursing and foot warmer on cold winter nights. We also have my son's dog, Easton and they tolerate each other, but whenever I walk Easton she follows along . She has been out constant faithful and loving companion.

Blackie has always been an indoor/outdoor cat and makes her rounds through the neighborhood (I let all the neighbors know she belongs to us and is well taken care of) Everyone knows how sweet and loving she is. She greets the next door neighbor every morning when he leaves for work. She did try convincing one neighbor she was starving and pregnant. I think he still gives her treats.

We were dog sitting, the dog broke out of her cage and attacked Blackie. The dog had gotten hold of her face and broke her hard palate and damaged her eye. She is back home but without surgery food goes through the roof of her mouth and into her respiratory tract. She will have her mouth repaired and her eye removed.

I am a single mom. Unexpected electrical repairs last spring and the Emergency Vet Bill have wiped my savings. The estimate for the surgery is $3500. Surgery will keep her well and able to love on us for years to come.
