At just 11 weeks old, little Blaze came to Pooch Savers in urgent need of help. His owner reached out after a devastating injury that caused Blaze's femur and leg to be completely detached.

The vet gave us two options: complex surgery with a pin and rod… or amputation. They knew Blaze deserved a chance to run and play again, especially at such a young age so he had the surgery. This gave him the option to experience life as close to a normal puppy as possible.

He made it through like a champ, and he’s already wagging his tiny tail. Blaze had multiple pins and rods placed during surgery and now faces 8 weeks of strict crate rest so his leg can heal properly. It won’t be easy, but this sweet pup is surrounded by love and care (and plenty of treats) every step of the way.
