About this campaign
My dog Chloe was missing her playmate who moved away. I decided to find her a new friend and was looking for another female dog with no luck. I was at my last shelter when I came upon Bleu, in the very last cage on the bottom row. He looked me directly in the eyes and I fell in love. Everytime I would sit down with him and he crawl up in my lap and cuddle.
When Bleu came into our family my rescue cats were confused and avoided him. Chloe was happy he was home with us. He is very loved and accepted by the other pets. He is so loving and fun. When he was sick in the hospital the whole dynamic of the house changed and not for the better. The other animals were very confused and looked for him in his crate and around the house. Very sad.
This terrible event has caused me a terrible hardship due to the cost of his hospital care alone. I am on a fixed income and can't afford that so I asked to care for him at home. We have been treating him at home with daily labs and meds costs.
Bleu has plenty of chew toys available to him. He goes to the storage bin where his toys are anytime he wants something. I bought some vitamins and one being D3. The vitamins were put away. A few days later I saw he chewed a vitamin D bottle, no pills were around. 12/31 I noticed he wasn't acting right. 1/1 I noticed he wasn't right. Called the vet and brought him in. He actually did ingest Vit D.
All of my rescues are special but knowing Bleu came from a kill shelter in Kentucky makes him special because he got a second chance at life. He is very smart and has a unique relationship with each of us. For me he follows me everywhere, he loves to be silly with the same rope toy I gave him when I adopted him almost 4 years ago. His ears will flip straight up and he makes the funniest sounds.
