About this campaign
I adopted Blossom, a 3-year-old guinea pig, on March 5th, 2026. Blossom came from a hoarding situation where the previous owner had 20 total pets in an apartment. Blossom now lives with her sister (my 5-year-old guinea pig), Flower in their 2x5 C&C cage with lots of space, hay, enrichment toys, and hideys. I lost my other guinea pig, Hunny, in February 2026; Blossom has helped Flower and I grieve.
Blossom has overgrown teeth that are going into her tongue. This is leading to it being difficult for her to eat and drink. Eventually, breathing may become difficult or impossible. She was seen at South Hyland Pet Hospital on 04/01/2026 for her first wellness visit.
I call my guinea pigs my daughters because they are my children by choice. Flower has acted more like her happy self since Blossom became a part of our family. Blossom is a redhead guinea pig & shows off all her sass; she is a tiny girl with a big attitude! Although Blossom doesn't replace Hunny, she brings us joy & reminds us that we helped a little guinea pig get out of a bad situation.
The loss of my very first pet included necropsy report and cremation costs. I live in a low-income household, and I am on medical assistance. Unfortunately, I am having my own surgery in June 2026. It breaks my heart to have money come between Blossom and her urgent surgery.
