I got Blu for my 14th birthday. He is my first dog. We have had Blu since he was just a puppy. Blu lives at home with me, my mom, and my sister. Blu is about to celebrate his 9th birthday in July.

Blu was recently diagnosed with Peritoneopericardial Diaphragmatic Hernia or PPDH. There is a large hole in his diaphragm which allows his abdominal organs to travel in and out of the pericardium, the sac around the heart. He recently had an emergency surgery to fix this problem at Emergency Veterinary Referral Hospital in Woburn, MA.

Blu is very smart and will learn any trick for a treat. He loves to catch sun rays in the summer heat and play in the snow during the dead of a New England winter. If he’s not taking naps, he is with his little sister Nova. If he could be friends with everyone, he would be. He is always excited to meet new people or even say hi to old friends.

I work as a pharmacy technician and only make enough to support me and my dogs. There is not much wiggle room I can make to pay such a large bill. With Blu healthy again, my cuddle buddy can come home.
